The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Friday 14th October called off their near one-year nationwide academic strike.
The Union called off the strike after a leadership meeting that started on late Thursday and went into the early hours of Friday which resulted in the union deciding to call off the strike.
The move though a welcome development, but it has angered Nigerians as the main aim of the 8-month old strike was not achieved while rendering students’ one year academic semester useless.
With all set and done, students of Nigeria tertiary institutions are the ones to pay the price as they have lost a whole academic year while their selfish lecturers aim were also not achieved.
