Vice-Chancellor of Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Patrick Egbule, has been sacked by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Cosmas Iwu, the Secretary to State Government (SSG), announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

Mr Egbule, a professor of agricultural and workforce education, would be replaced as acting vice-chancellor of the institution by Christopher Eze, according to Mr Iwu.

He said in a statement;

“Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, has approved the immediate removal of Prof Patrick Egbule as Acting Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo.”

“As a result, His Excellency has approved the immediate appointment of Prof Christopher Chiedozie Eze as the interim vice-chancellor of the Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo”.

The vice-chancellor was fired without explanation.

The governor wished Mr Egbule well in his future endeavours and advised Mr Eze, the new vice-chancellor, to “commit himself to the highest standards in the governance of the fledgling institution,” according to the SSG.
