The crave impact of Nigeria Baker’s strike over the rising cost of materials in Nigeria on the Masses will be an alarming one.

Earlier today, Daily Trust, revealed that the Bakery Association of Nigeria have shut down after struggling to cope with the current situation in Nigeria.

With over 5,000 bakeries nationwide, they are the second highest employer of labour with over 450,000 members nationwide.

The association’s Secretary for Kaduna chapter, Musa Zamzam, in his statement to Daily Trust, echoed that;

“the increased cost of materials, the current global inflation and also the non-remittance of the ‘Cassava Bread Fund’ initiated for the master bakers in 2012 under President Goodluck Jonathan is the main reason for the strike “.

Nigerians have taken to social media to voice their fears over the situation and it’s impact on their diets, especially breakfast, with many now resorted to akara for breakfast.

The President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration should try and find a possible way to tackle all these pending doom befalling the nation.
