Recently there motion moved to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari by the National Assembly due to his incompetent leadership.
Many have praised the bold move by the Nigerian National Assembly, but is it actually the right time considering that the president has only 6 months before his tenure ends.
Some Nigerians has even labeled the impeachment motion as meaningless considering that he has less than six months before he steps down after completing the mandatory 2 terms as per Nigerian constitution.
In another sad development, president Muhammadu Buhari’s-led administration recently donated a financial aid to the tone of N1.14bn to purchase 10 Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles for the Nigerien government.
In truth the All Progressives Congress, APC led by president Buhari has failed in all areas of governance, with the country looking like a nation with no direction and leadership.
The National Chairman of (APC) even rubbish the threats of an impeachment labelling it a “sorry development”.
Whatever step that is being taken by the National Assembly, the truth remains that such motion should have been initiated long time ago and not now that the president has just 6 months left, which makes such action look like a political stunt.
