President Muhammadu Buhari’s-led administration recently donated a financial aid to the tone of N1.14bn to purchase 10 Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles for the Nigerien government.
This has prompted Nigerians to accuse the president of favouring Niger Republic to the detriment of Nigeria.
The accusation was made by Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, (HURIWA) after the fund donation was confirmed.
This is a president who has been ranting that the federal government can’t pay ASUU their demands which has been the reason why federal universities in Nigeria has been on strike for the past 6 months.
With Nigerian economy nosediving to mediocrity, the president seems unconcerned that every penny should be used for something tangible.
This and so favouritism gesture to Niger Republic shows where Buhari’s original allegiance and patriotism lie as evident in his many constructions linking Nigeria to Niger Republic.
