News trending on the internet has alleged that All Progressive Party (APC) presidential aspirant Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his party reportedly hired Christian Clergymen and women to participate in the unveiling of the party’s vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima.

Footages of the alleged fake bishops dressed in cassocks who attended the event have flooded the social media amid outcry and backlash amongst Nigerians.

There have been claims by most of the alleged bishops that they were given food and cassocks to wear and were promised N100 each in return to posing as clergymen but they were only paid N40,000 with some lamenting that they were given N30,000.

In an interview by DailyPost with one of the fake bishops Mr Odaudu, he was quoted as saying: “the All Progressive Party (APC) came to meet us at the car park behind Eagle Square, bought food for us, gave us clothes to dress like Christian leaders and reverend fathers and promised to pay us N100,000, but after we finished, they only gave me N40,000 and another person said they got only N30,000. I don’t know why they changed our agreement because they said they had N100,000 for us”.

Many renowned clergymen and celebrities alike have voiced their anger over the recent development.

If the investigation were to be true, it will end up costing the All Progressive Party (APC) any chance of retaining their already shaking presidential seat come 2022.
